Tattoo Aftercare
Proper aftercare is essential for ensuring your tattoo heals beautifully. Follow these guidelines to keep your tattoo looking vibrant for years to come.
Second Skin
Leave your second skin on for 3-4 days after your appointment
You may notice liquid collecting underneath the second skin, do not worry this is normal! If you notice any of this liquid leaking out from under the second skin, then remove it, otherwise leave it for the 3-4 days.
If you notice any skin irritation from the second skin, remove it.
Avoid sweating where possible while the second skin is on
Sometime the second skin doesn’t stick well to parts of the body - if it comes off before the 4 days do not worry! Just follow steps 2-4 in the same way.
Remove the second skin in the shower or under a tap and wash the tattoo
Peel the second skin towards you, and allow warm water to come under the second skin.
Using a mild, fragrance free soap, gently wash your tattoo with lukewarm water. Make sure you get off any excess ink and plasma from the tattoo.
Pat the tattoo dry with a soft towel, make sure you are not rubbing your fresh tattoo!
First Few Days
Cling Wrap
Leave the cling wrap on for up to 2 hours
The cling wrap is designed to keep away any bacteria between leaving the tattoo studio and getting home. Don’t leave it on for longer than a couple of hours.

Leave your tattoo for 2 days
No need to apply aftercare product for the first 2 days, just make sure you are keeping your tattoo clean!
The following 2 weeks
Keep Your Tattoo Clean: Wash your tattoo daily with gentle soap and water, then pat it dry with a clean towel.
Apply aftercare product: Continue applying aftercare product or unscented lotion to keep your tattoo hydrated. Avoid over-moisturizing – a little goes a long way.
Avoid Sun Exposure: Protect your tattoo from direct sunlight. Do not apply sun lotion while the tattoo is healing.
Avoid Scratching or Picking: Refrain from scratching or picking at your tattoo, as this can lead to scarring and infection.
Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated from the inside out.
Avoid Soaking: Avoid swimming pools, hot tubs, and baths until your tattoo is fully healed to prevent infection.
Don't Exercise Intensely: Strenuous physical activity can cause excessive sweating and friction on your tattoo, which may lead to irritation and slower healing. Take it easy for the first few days after getting tattooed.
Watch for Signs of Infection: Keep an eye out for any signs of infection, such as increased redness, swelling, warmth, or discharge. If you suspect an infection, contact your tattoo artist or a healthcare professional immediately.
Be Patient: Remember that tattoo healing is a process that takes time. Be patient and allow your tattoo to heal naturally without interference.
